Bus Riding

I was fairly excited to go back to school. I was going to get on a great schedule, learn lots, get closer to graduating, and best of all-- ride the bus.

The moment I got to the bus stop on the first day of school I realized I had the wrong idea. There was a woman running in circles. A young man chatting with himself. And it was so bloody cold.

The bus ride itself wasn't that bad. My biggest complaint was that we had to keep getting off the freeway.

The ride home was one thousand times worse. I sat freezing at the bus stop for 45 minutes waiting (I could have driven home twice). By the time the bus finally did arrive (9 minutes late) I had an awful headache and an awful attitude. One of the passengers was literally Mr. Bean. I hate to even bring Mr. Bean into the picture, but this man was the living, walking version of Mr. Bean. He was constantly smiling, staring and grunted to communicate. I was terrified he was going to follow me home.

Then to top it all off, I got dropped off on the opposite side of the street than I wanted. So I had to walk all the way down to the crosswalk, and walk all the way back to my car.

Basically, I would rather pay for gas.Forget time for studying, reading or thinking, I much rather transport myself. However, I have convinced myself to ride the bus two of my four days of school. Tomorrow, I get to drive and I am THRILLED.

I think as you slowly lose your mind you'll slowly warm up to the bus, just like the rest of its passengers.

s-a, the bus ride to orem has always been a nightmare. 2 out of 4 days would still be too much for me. after i was denied a date by a married woman on my ride to UVSC, i made myself a promise to never ride in that depressing machine ever again. then i broke that promise one year later, and the brakes went out and our bus crashed into eight parked cars. i'm dead serious.

I learned to hate the bus while in 9th grade when I was forced to ride the city bus brom South Jordan back home to Sandy every day. I was offered weed several times, and even after I got to the end of the line I had to walk a mile home with my backpack and sports bag.

Also in Iowa City I was forced to ride the bus a lot, as I didn't have a car. And on that bus I witnessed a man do something that is not appropriate to post here, but I might feel comfortable talking about in person. It was just another time that the bus system failed me miserably.

However, before I completely ruin busses for everyone... busses are great! I'm sure it won't be that bad!

I think this is hilarious: "I hate to even bring Mr. Bean into the picture..."
