I saw this man on the Colbert Report a while ago. I was immediately interested.
I read his book, Life in the Valley of Death, this week. I really loved it. I encourage you to read it as well.
He has three other books, I plan on reading each of them in the next little while.

my eyes were gushing with tears when he told his story. i'm going to get this book, but i'll probably have to wrap it in a ziploc bag so i don't ruin the pages.
You really might have to wrap it in a ziploc, I was nearly bawled several times.

I watched that clip of the show and my eyes welled. I didn't expect that to happen... but it totally did. I'm going to go get that book tonight.
